Feed2 is a Ministry of RMI
Who is RMI?
Reciprocal Ministries International (RMI) was founded in 1988 to bring the US church and the Haitian church together in long-term partnerships to minister into each other's lives. Since that time RMI has established several dozen partnerships through their C3 Partnership program. These church partnerships are engaged in various types of ministry together covering evangelism, discipleship, social compassion, education, and community development. RMI makes sure that the Gospel is clearly shared in all that it does. Our desire is that all of south Haiti would have the chance to hear the Gospel and see the Gospel in action.
RMI is governed by a Board of Directors of not less than five individuals, a majority of whom are not staff or family. The RMI Board of Directors meet together face to face at least twice a year, in addition to periodic conference calls and sets policies, approves vision, evaluates effectiveness, reviews financial statements, approves budgets, and in general provides direction and oversight to the entire ministry. RMI applies the guiding principles of its Board according to ECFA guidelines.
Dan Shoemaker, RMI President
Having grown up in Haiti as a missionary kid and then spending 25 years living in Haiti, Dan has a unique understanding of the needs of the Haitian churches and schools. Since becoming President of RMI in 2006, he has had a great desire to provide Haitian families with hope for their future. Feed2 was born out of experiencing the impact of a pilot program that he started to feed 5000 kids a day in school. It has seen such great success he knew RMI had to do more. Through prayer and a great team on the ground in Haiti RMI, through Feed2, is committed to eventually serving 100,000 kids a hot meal to provide them with this same life transforming impact.
Rob Thompson, Haiti Field Director
Rob began his career with RMI working in operations in the US office. In 2009, God called him and his wife Becky to lead RMI's ministry in Haiti. Through Rob's leadership, RMI has seen its programs grow in ministry and impact. He has been a force in raising up Haitian leaders to oversee all the RMI ministries on the field. All of RMI's ministries, including Feed2, are managed and run by RMI's Haitian staff. In addition to loving Jesus, his family and the RMI team, Rob enjoys the outdoors, photography and technology. Rob and Becky are the proud parents of 3 children: Drew, Tessa and Braden.
Benjamin Altema, Haiti Field Administrator
Benjamin oversees RMI's staff and ministries with one of those being Feed2. He is responsible to make sure that they are run with integrity and full accountability. As a Haitian national, he loves that he is able to impact his people and be a part of seeing life transformation happen in so many lives through the various ministries of RMI. Many years ago, he was a part of a school that had a feeding program. He likes to say that while he might have forgotten to take his books to school, he never forgot his food bowl! He understands the importance of Feed2 in a very personal way. He and his wife have 4 young boys that keep them busy. He enjoys taking his family to the beach, relaxing at home with his family, and exploring Haiti with his wife.
Benson Joseph, Feed2 Supervisor
Benson leads a team of Haitian staff that implements the Feed2 program into the Feed2 church schools. He oversees the ordering, receiving, and distribution of the food to the schools. His staff also provides the training and on-going supervision of Feed2 in the schools, making sure that all requirements of process and accountability are met. He has a great heart for kids and is thankful that he is able to help transform the lives of so many kids. He himself is a great example of a child sponsorship program in Haiti and how it can change lives since he was sponsored as a school child. He credits his sponsors with enabling him to be the success he is today. He loves to tell how he saw 2 very malnourished kids starting out a school year in a Feed2 school and going back 3 months later and not recognizing them. They were in good health and looked "normal". This is what Feed2 does and he loves being a part of it. He and his wife have 2 young children. He enjoys date night with his wife and playing with his son.
